237 likes, 38 comments - thetastefulblonde on December 23, 2024: “VANILLA BEAN SCONES - 2.5 cups all purpose flour - 6 tbsp granulated sugar - 1 tbsp baking powder - 1 tsp salt - 6 tbsp salted butter (chilled and diced) - 1 cup heavy cream - 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste - 1 tbsp milk for (brushing on top) ICING: - 1 cup powdered sugar - 1 tsp vanilla bean paste - 2-3 tbsp water Step 1: Preheat oven to 450 Step 2: In a large bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Step 3: Add in diced chilled butter, cream, and vanilla bean paste. Mix everything together until all combined. Step 4: shape dough into a ball and wrap with plastic wrap then put in the freezer to chill for 10 minutes. Step 5: place chilled dough on a floured surface. Roll into circle and cut into 8 slices. Transfer to parchment paper lined baking tray and brush the tops of the scones with milk. Step 6: bake at 450 until golden on top (about 15 minutes). Let cool completely. Step 7: whisk glaze ingredients together then dip scones into glaze once cooled completely.
