
Challah French Toast
The secret to next-level French toast is properly soaking challah in a rich, quick custard made with whole milk.

In a 9×9-inch dish, whisk together milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Add eggs and whisk until smooth.

Add 3 slices of challah (or enough to fit in one layer). Soak 2 minutes, flip, then soak 2–3 more minutes until fully saturated but not falling apart.

Heat a large pan over medium heat and melt 2 tbsp butter.

Cook French toast for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.

Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.

Serve warm with butter, maple syrup, and berries.
